DeSoto University
School District of DeSoto County has partnered with BloomBoard to offer select non-instructional staff that have an associate degree the opportunity to earn a fully accredited Bachelor of Science in Education through a flexible, on-the-job program – paid for by the district.

Program Overview
DeSoto University offers a unique opportunity for select non-instructional participants who hold an associate’s degree to earn college credit through the J.E.T. (Job Embedded Teaching) Pathway program, in collaboration with Barry University and BloomBoard. This program provides a pathway to a fully-accredited Bachelor of Science in Education, with specialization options in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Exceptional Student Education, ultimately leading to teacher licensure in Florida.
Participants will complete 20 skill-based courses (60 credit hours) while working in a classroom setting. As part of the program, participants will create artifacts based on their classroom experiences and upload them to the BloomBoard platform for evaluation.
Accredited by Barry University, the program can be completed in just two years, at no cost for select participants employed within the School District of DeSoto County.
