Turning Potential Into Impact—One Educator at a Time
Hear from some of our program participants as they share their transformative journeys—including how the support, skills, and opportunities they gained through the program not only advanced their careers but also changed their lives.
Elizabeth
As a single mom of 3 kids, Elizabeth was excited to be hired as a paraprofessional in her son’s middle school in Evanston/Skokie District 65, Illinois. When the district offered 10 paras an opportunity to earn their teaching degree while on the job, she jumped at it.
Azandra
Azandra loved her job as a long-term substitute in the School District of Palm Beach County, Florida, and knew she wanted to be a certified teacher. But as a single mother, she didn’t have the time to go to school nights and weekends to get her education degree and certification.
India
India has been a paraprofessional for over 25 years at Miami Trace Local SD in Ohio. Her dream was to be a certified teacher but life happened and she didn’t have time to attend a traditional college. When the opportunity came to earn a degree while working, she ran for it.
Cindy
Cindy knew she wanted to become a certified teacher but she worried that going back to school would require her to quit her job. When the School District of Palm Beach County, Florida offered her a pathway to get her degree on the job, she was thrilled to accept.
Blake
Blake always knew he wanted to work with kids. Coming out of high school, he needed to support himself, so the traditional college path just wasn’t an option for him. He was working as a paraprofessional at Clarke County School District when his life took a new turn.
What Candidates Love About the Program

What District Leaders Are Saying
I will always have candidates in the program. I have more people applying for positions in my district because of this program. My line of people is waiting and as my board sees more and more success, they’re telling me to sign up more. It’s a game changer.

Vickie Maruniak
Superintendent, Triad Local School District (OH)
We’ve received over 150 applicants for the program with zero advertising. Our candidates have become our best recruiters. When a program attracts this many applicants on its own, without needing to be sold, it’s clear that we’re on the right track.
