• Video Recording–Mentor Training #1: During the month of October 2024, three RankUp KY! Mentor trainings were held to review the mentor role, key actions to support the mentor/mentee partnership, and supports available to you as Mentor.
  

• Key Actions of RankUp KY! Mentors: As mentors, you will support each mentee’s experience over the course of the program. By implementing these key actions, you can empower mentees throughout their rank change journey.

• BloomBoard Handbook for RankUp KY! Mentors: This handbook contains additional information about the BloomBoard platform, supports, and the mentor role.

• The RankUp KY! Mentors Collaborate space is a place for Mentors to ask questions, share personal experiences, share celebrations, and discuss strategies supportive of the Mentor/Mentee relationship.  You can actively engage with your colleagues and the RankUp KY! Coaches to positively impact the success of your Mentees.

• Tips for posting in the Collaborate space:
  • If asking a question about a particular artifact or artifact part within a particular unit, include the full name of the unit and artifact or artifact part.  My mentee is working on the “Evaluating Assessment Quality” unit.  What if the summative assessment for Artifact 1 Part A  is an online assessment?  How does the teacher upload the completed summative assessment for Artifact 1 Part A?
  • If you are trying to reach a particular mentor or coach within the Collaborate space, use the @ mention feature to add their name.  Your message will be accessible to all but the @ mentioned person will receive specific notification of the message.  

• See the Collaborate support articles on the BloomBoard Support site for more information on using the Collaborate space and sending direct messages on the platform.  

• You are encouraged to utilize the RankUp KY! Mentors Collaborate space to post questions regularly as you support your mentees.  This space includes the RankUp KY! Coaches.  Coaches will respond to messages within 24 hours on business days.

• Each BloomBoard RankUp KY! Coach offers 1:1 coaching sessions through Zoom.  You may meet with any RankUp KY! Coach.  Check their availability and schedule appointments through their Calendly links.  This support article will assist you in utilizing Calendly.

• General resources
  • Success Academy Agenda  This document is added to after each BLC.  Links to the recordings, slide decks, and essential resources are updated weekly as the weekly BLCs are completed.  Refer participants to this document for a source of support if a BLC is missed or questions about the BLCs are asked. July 2024 cohort agenda is attached as an example.  
  • Personalized Timeline with Artifacts to support personalized  completion goals
  • RankUp! KY Unit Note Catcher  This document can be utilized by mentees as they are beginning a new unit to help them take a deep look at the requirements and artifacts of the unit to help them with backwards planning in keeping with their personalized completion goal.  
  • Non-traditional classroom guidance  If you have mentees who are working in roles other than primary classroom instructors such as guidance counselors, SPED or intervention teachers, etc., this resource provides guidance to assist them in completing the course/units of RankUp KY!  
  • RankUp KY! Specific Support Articles can be found and searched within the Degree Programs and S4 Submission Type Units section on the BloomBoard support site.  You can share support articles that help with questions posed by your mentees.

  • Analyzing the History of Education unit Artifact 1 Part A.  Much of the information required in the Research on Educational Setting template can be found on the Kentucky Department of Education School Report Card website.

  • Capstone Program Overview  This document is included in Learn activity 2 within Capstone 2. It provides an overview of the scaffolded process of the Capstone Research project within the Capstone course for both mentors and mentees.
