Allen County Schools introduce new partnership with BloomBoard to help teachers

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A group of teachers at Allen County Schools have been selected for a new program to help shape their future in education.

Through BloomBoard, each teacher is awarded $4,000 to help fund their dreams of getting a Masters degree in Education.

A group of ten teachers are among the first to receive this funding, which the school system says is amazing to be able to provide.

“I think it’s exciting… I think it’s a sense of accomplishment that we all can feel that we’ve been able to play a part in the development of our educators right here in Allen County, to see their excitement as they sign and and commit to do this work, knowing that there’s real benefit for them, not just in terms of professional growth, but also financially for them,” Allen County Schools Superintendent Travis Hamby says.

We also spoke to one teacher at Allen County Scottsville High School, who was awarded money alongside her husband who also teaches at the high school.

She told us it’s a huge deal for them since they have two kids at home, and it will allow them to complete their rank change as quickly as possible while still providing for their family.
