Key Method

The instructor uses multiple resources to plan for instruction and prepares materials ahead of time so that management is seamless during the session.

Method Components

The intention of this competency is to ensure that the instructor 1) uses multiple resources to plan for instruction and 2) prepares materials and structures ahead of time, leading to seamless classroom management.

Submission Requirements

Submission Guidelines & Evaluation Criteria

The items in this following section detail what must be submitted for evaluation. To earn the micro-credential, you must receive a passing evaluation for each question in Parts 1 and 3, and a “Yes” for each component in Part 2.

Part 1. Overview Questions

(300-word limit for each response)

Part A

  • What grade level, content standards, and standards for mathematical practices did you plan for?
  • What resources did you use in the planning process?
  • How did you organize your materials ahead of time to ensure smooth management?
  • What interactive structures did you plan for this day’s instruction?

Part 2. Work Examples/Artifacts

Instructor must submit their preparation sheet listing the resources, materials, and structures they prepared ahead of time. The rubric in this section will focus on the quality of their use of resources, materials management, and interactive structures to facilitate a well-organized, well-managed session.
