Educators deepen their understanding about their leadership strengths and apply that knowledge to leverage strengths in teacher-powered projects.

  1. Engage in a self-assessment of your leadership strengths (see Resources section).
  2. Reflect on how you have leveraged those strengths in previous work.
  3. Identify strategies for leveraging strengths in future teacher-powered work.
  4. Engage in a meeting or project where you leverage those strengths.

Submission Guidelines & Evaluation Criteria

To earn the micro-credential, you must receive a passing evaluation for Parts 1 and 3 and a score of Proficient or Exemplary for each component in Part 2.

Part 1. Overview questions

  • Activity Description (200-word limit): What kind of learning activities did you engage in to deepen your understanding about your work style or leadership strengths? Please describe the learning activities and strategies you used.
  • Activity Description (300-word limit): What is the context for the meeting or project presented in your video? What were the intended outcomes? What do we need to know about others who are in the video?

Part 2. Evidence/artifacts

Submit a 10-minute, unedited video recording of yourself that demonstrates how you leveraged your work style or leadership strengths in a collaborative professional situation.

Your artifact submission will be assessed based on the following rubric. You must earn a score of Proficient or Exemplary on this portion of the submission in order to earn the micro-credential.

Part 3. Teacher reflection

Please respond to the following reflection questions related to your leadership strengths (250-word limit):

  • How would you describe your work style and leadership strengths?
  • How have you leveraged these (or not) in the past?
  • How did you use your work style or strengths in the video clip? Give an example.
  • What would you do differently if you could? Why?

Please reflect on how you might leverage your leadership strengths in the future (250-word limit):

  • What have you learned about your leadership or work style strengths?
  • How might you amplify these strengths and leverage them to support your teacher-powered goals in the future?
  • How will this knowledge affect your future teacher-powered work?
