Micro-credential Assessor

BloomBoard is seeking educators with experience coaching, mentoring, and/or evaluating other educators to assess submissions of evidence to determine educator competency and earning of units/micro-credentials. Responsibilities
The assessor:

  • assesses evidence against criteria, provides targeted and constructive feedback, and recommends an assessment of “Met” or “Not Yet Met” for the specific competency to an experienced approver.
  • needs to have the capacity to complete assigned assessments within 3 business days (portfolio submissions) and 2 business days (single artifact submissions).
  • needs to have the capacity to assess up to approximately 10 – 15 hours a week. There may be an opportunity for more, if you have the time available.

Certification
Assessors must first earn the BloomBoard micro-credential, “Assessing Unit Submissions with Accuracy” to achieve initial certification (~6 – 10 hours of work). Full certification is achieved after assessing ~10 – 20 portfolio submissions / ~30 – 60 single artifact submissions and receiving approval by the team lead responsible for onboarding.

Compensation
A flat fee is paid for every completed assessment which results in ~$30 – $45 an hour based on each individual’s speed. The flat fee varies by portfolio/single artifact and if the submission is an initial submission or a resubmission.

You will be paid $250 for earning the certification micro-credential and you will be paid the flat fee compensation for assessments completed during the full certification process.

Education
  • Masters Degree (required, in education preferred)
Experience
  • Teaching experience in K–12: 5 years (Required)
  • Teacher coaching or mentoring in K–12: 2 years (Required)
  • Evaluating teachers in K–12: 2 years (Preferred)
License
  • National Board (Preferred)
  • Foreign Language Teaching (Preferred)
Language
  • Proficient English (Required)
